Double Bay - East

Type Approved Anchorage.
Description Double Bay East is a mainland anchorage north of Airlie Beach. It is well protected and has been recorded as one of the better fishing spots on the mainland. There is a sandy beach at the eastern end.  However access to the private property is not possible above the high tide line.
Shelter in East to South West.
Fishing Fishing is permitted - check the 100 Magic Miles for details.
Be careful of Being caught north of CCY base in strong South East wind conditions.  Passing Grimston Point can be very uncomfortable in strong conditions.
Sailing Sailing to or from this anchorage from the islands typically offers favourable wind angles.
Solitude This is an infrequently visited anchorage.
