| Description |
Located half way up Nara Inlet, on the Western side, Refuge Bay offers an interesting anchorage option if there are fewer than 3 vessels already anchored there. Its provides additional protection from the small swell that generates in Nara inlet inSoutherly breezes.
The fringing coral is extensive, thus the 3 boat maximum. Be sure to anchor clear of other boats with allowance for the reef edge. It is recommended to survey the coral edge first so you can make an informed anchor placement.
A snorkel here after anchoring is worthwhile, if not at least to make yourself aware of the damage possible from yacht groundings. The majesty of the giant brain corals and other forms, show unfortunate signs of navigation with out care. |
